How your sponsorship impacts our mission
The Urbana Black Heritage Festival Committee is organizing an event in observance of Juneteenth. Our organization’s mission is to foster healing and a coming together of the community to learn, share and celebrate our black families and our connectedness over generations.
The festival curators have strong ties to the local Urbana community and want to use this time of celebration to give back and elevate the community they grew up in. Sponsorship contributions to the festival will be poured back into the community through these three primary areas of impact: Revitalization of Barbara Howell Park, Homelessness in Champaign County, and Scholarships + Mentoring for Youth.
On June 17, 2021, Juneteenth officially became a federal holiday which marks the day when federal troops arrived in Galveston, Texas to ensure that all enslaved people were freed making this a perfect day to celebrate Urbana's rich Black heritage. Our celebrations typically observe Juneteenth on the Saturday before with an opening ceremony beginning at 10 am, and closing ceremony at 8 pm.
Sponsors involved will have a unique opportunity to support local families and position their brands in the forefront for diversity and equity initiatives in the city of Urbana and surrounding areas. Positioning your brand with the celebration of Black Heritage is not only a strategic partnership for the future of our economy, but also a symbol of dedication to local Black businesses, community partners and the African American consumer.
The following entities are excited and fully support this community wide inaugural event; The City of Urbana, the Champaign County Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau, the Urbana Youth Center, The River of Life Christian Center, and Jerusalem Second Baptist Church.
We're offering a variety of tiered sponsorship levels for local corporations, organizations, independent contractors, and community partners to choose which level of commitment, support and involvement they'd like to contribute to the Black Heritage Festival and the local multicultural Urbana community, as a whole.
Our presenting sponsor will have direct access + integration into the multicultural communities in Champaign County and surrounding areas. All sponsors will receive a complimentary vending booth to promote or sell products and services of their business. Digital perks of our community partner sponsorship include presence on the official festival website and dedicated social media posts.
Let’s Work Together
All sponsors will be asked to provide contact information for their Marketing staff member or team lead to efficiently communicate marketing deadlines with our team.
