Urbana Ohio's very own Black Heritage Festival
After four meaningful years of service, the Barbara Howell Park Conservancy will begin a formal wind down, and the Urbana Black Heritage Festival will be retired under BHPC’s stewardship. We are incredibly proud of what this community built together. The celebrations, the stories, the joy, and the impact. None of it would have been possible without our sponsors, donors, volunteers, artists, and attendees.
A Look Back
Our Story
The planning committee for the festival was founded in 2021 and the inaugural Urbana Black Heritage Festival took place in 2022 as a way of remembering important people and local events in the history of Urbana, Ohio. Our mission was to bring the community together to learn, share and celebrate our black families over generations.
