Mission
The mission of the Barbara Howell Park Non-Profit is to preserve and enhance Barbara Howell Park as a valued community asset offering equitable access to recreational, cultural, and educational experiences. Rooted in a historically Black neighborhood and named after Barbara Howell, we are committed to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion. By engaging the community, building partnerships, and actively advocating, we aim to sustain and ensure the park’s vibrant legacy.
Vision
The Barbara Howell Park Non-Profit envisions a vibrant, inclusive, and sustainable park that fosters community unity and revitalizes Urbana, Ohio’s historic Black neighborhood. Honoring Barbara Howell’s legacy, we aim to offer diverse recreational activities, celebrate cultural heritage, and promote environmental stewardship. By creating an accessible, thriving green space, we aspire to enrich lives and establish the park as a community beacon for all.
